This weeks’ example:
To me this is a deeply emotional piece.
I love how free-form and loose the brush-strokes are in the background and fish. And then the contrast of those with the womans face that is tightly rendered.
The colors are beautiful: oranges, tortoise and violet on a neutral background. And somehow the skin tones of the face pop out even though the colors are not as saturated. I looks like the oranges, tortoise and violet colors are reflected in the face colors as under paint.
The mood of the piece is moody and introspective (the central subject) and also vibrant and alive (the fish and background) at the same time...
Wow, love it!
