Blue flowers

I love the way that this eye is rendered, with loose bold brush strokes. The brush strokes are evident and representational (abstract).

What makes the eye, even though it is on an abstract plane definately feel like it is on someone's face? The warm skin tones help. The intense direct stare draws you in. There is life behind that eye. The artist put it there.
