Disaster at SF MOMA!
You are a curator of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
The fire alarm goes off, you are in the galleries, and you have time to save one piece of art.Which one is it?
After the fire is put out and everyone is safe the Museum Director wants to know why you saved the piece—your job depends on your answer!

INSTRUCTIONS:
- Go to the SF MOMA web site and look at some of the artwork displayed there—check out the exhipits page and the teachers resources page. Get a picture of the art piece that you have chosen to save and do some research about the artist and the work that you have saved from the fire.
- In class you will create a document with your name, the picture(s) and a brief statement outlining the reason why you chose the piece to save.
Some things to consider: The artist’s technical ability, the importance of the artist or the work, the message of the work, the historical value of the work, and the collections mission of the Museum.
